Welcome back to Kids Church Online. In term 4 we will be looking at Jesus’ stories which show us about God’s Big Love.
Bible Story – The Pharisee and Tax Collector
Our story this week is the Parable of The Pharisee and Tax Collector.
You can find it in Luke 18:9-14.
In Jesus’ time, Pharisees were teachers of God’s law. They spent lots of time thinking about how to do the right thing and telling other people to do it too. Tax Collectors ask people to pay money to the government, except they asked for more money than they were supposed to and kept it for themselves, so lots of people didn’t like them.
(Today there are rules to make sure people pay the right amount of tax. Taxes pay for things for everyone like roads, schools and hospitals).
