Beginnings
In 1957, Epping Baptist Church purchased two blocks of land at the corner or Alamein Ave and Pennant Hills Rd, Carlingford with the intention of commencing a new church. In June the following year, the North Carlingford Baptist Church Fellowship was formed. Meetings were held in the Progress Hall in West Epping, at Yallambi on Pennant Hills Rd and at other homes around the district. Sunday School commenced in tents erected on the land and an army hut was transported to the site from Ingleburn. On the 7th of September 1958, a new church building was opened with 28 foundation members. Our story has been published in a book, ‘Purpose and Passion’ written by Irene McKilligan and available from the church office.
Today
We are part of The Association of Baptist Churches NSW and ACT and one of the 230 churches in NSW. We have a multicultural congregation comprising of more than 200 members. Throughout the years, the congregation has provided opportunity for its members to develop their relationships with God in Christ, to provide service to the community, to participate in social activities, and to invite others to join in worship and service to God.
Our desire is to see a relevant church that is growing in faith, numbers and influence – one that is impacting and meeting the needs of the community, and one that is vibrant and inclusive.
