Today we are exploring one of the stories that occurred after Jesus came back to life.
On the Road to Emmaus
In the story (Luke 24:13-35), the two people talked to Jesus about what had been happening whilst walking along a road. At first the people don’t realise it’s Jesus. We remember some of the amazing things Jesus did – which links to our first song – Oh Have You Heard?
We also hear about Jesus’ death, and the mystery of the empty tomb. Jesus explains what it means to his friends, and what it says in the Old Testament about him. Our second song – Rescuer (Good News) – celebrates what Jesus’ life, death and resurrection mean for us today and in the future.
Finally we have a special recording of The Lord is King. Colin Buchanan has an introduction for kids recorded only a few weeks ago at the start of the COVID-19 shutdown period. Colin reminds us to trust in Jesus – because he is King. In our story today, Jesus cared about what was troubling his friends, and he cares about what’s going on for us today as well.
